Gifts for Gardeners and Garden Lovers that Stand out from the Crowd

Gifts for gardeners felt vegetable decorationsGifts for gardeners can be a tad samey, so we’ve pulled together some garden and botanical inspired gifts that stand out from the crowd. Gardening is such a pleasurable pastime. Whether, like us, you have pocket-handkerchief sized courtyard, or are lucky enough to have flowerbeds galore, gardening is good for the soul. Even if you can only stretch to a window box, the process of growing something from seed or watching plants blossom is so heart warming.

When we lived in a flat in London with no garden, regular visits to parks and National Trust properties gave us a regular botanical fix. National Trust membership is a great Christmas gift for someone special. Alternatively, see if any local gardens have special annual subscriptions. One of our favourite local gardens Great Dixter has an annual membership that allows unlimited visits so you can enjoy the garden all year round.

Gardeners tend to get mucky. This Salt and Honey Hand Scrub from gorgeous store The Future Kept contains Himalayan pink salt to scrub away dirt and rough skin. Honey and essential oils help to heel any scratches, whilst jojoba and sweet almond oil moisturise the skin.

The delightfully named Higgledy Garden sells a wonderful selection of seeds that any gardener would love to find in their stocking. If we had a larger garden, I would go for a pack of Bee Friendly Flower Meadow seed. Looking after bees is so important and they need all the help they can get. If you can't accommodate an entire meadow, they also do a smaller pack of Bee Friendly Seed Mix.

I'm really hoping that Santa leaves me a pack of Chrysanthemum ‘Rainbow Hippy Love Child’ in my stocking. Also from Higgledy Garden, the blooms are just spectacular and what a name!

A Book for Small Gardeners

If you have any smaller budding gardeners on your Christmas gift list, how about a wonderfully illustrated book? The Little Gardener by Emily Hughes published by Flying Eye Books is a gentle tale that teaches us how important it is to persist and try, no matter what the odds. There is also a wish that comes true! This will be a gift for our little gardener on Christmas morning.
